Hotel equipment

If you are planning to connect Ulyses PMS with your phone system (aka PBX) or other any hotel device you need to follow this guide. Here will provide the information needed so you can connect both of them very easily.

We can either connect a PBX both through an existing integration such as the Tesipro's PBX Manager integration, OR we can hire a dev team to do that for us. In both cases, the goal is not only adding outgoing calls as charges to the correspondent room account but also to send orders from the PBX to Ulyses PMS (ie indicate room status). To get this done, we recommend you to read the following common operations

Common operations

Managing extensions

To allocate a charge in a room account we need to know to which extension belongs. On one hand we can get all extensions in each module and also we can add new extensions, alternatively we can remove existing extensions easily. To relate all extensions with its modules we will need to get all of them first.

Add call charges

When an outgoing call is made from an extension, this needs to be sent to Ulyses PMS as a posting.

Change room status

As you may know, Ulyses Cloud's rooms can be formed from 1 to N spaces. The status of a room will be the sum of the statuses of all the spaces, taking into account that if a room has more than a space and one of them is dirty, the whole room will be marked as dirty. If you want to know the status of an specific room we recommend you to follow Ulyses Cloud events guidelines so you do not need to be requesting the status periodically. To update status of a room we will recommend you to use the following endpoint thought.

Update room's presence

Ulyses Connections allows external providers such as building automated systems to inform about room's presence through the following endpoint. Firstly you will need to request all the rooms to get its id through the following endpoint.

Update room modes

Ulyses Cloud allow users to define multiples room modes. Room modes are used to allocate additional statuses to rooms and these are normally triggered by guests (ie do not disturb, service requested, and so. on). The following endpoint will allow providers know about the different Room modes in a given property and the following endpoint will allow them to update automatically rRoom modes so the property’s frontdesk does need to perform the change manually.

Send orders

As we mentioned before PBX nowadays not only are used to make/receive calls but also to facilitate the communication between different teams. While frontdesk can send orders to housekeeping easily thanks to the module rack and other views, cleaning agents can also change the status of rooms by typing specific codes in the PBX. To send orders from the PBX to Ulyses PMS we will use the following endpoint. To get all the orders sent from the PBX to Ulyses PMS we will use the following call

Get roomstay changes

Ulyses Connections allow you to know when a reservation roomstay has been changed. This is useful when you want to trigger specific actions when a reservation roomstay has been changed (ie change of status, change of segment, channel, etc). To know the changes of reservations you need to subscribe to Ulyses Cloud Roomstay events in Ulyses Connections and await for the queue of events to be filled. If we want to update roomstay's information by using the following endpoint.

Please note

Subscribing to Ulyses Cloud events will start sending information regarding reservations, rooms or profiles that have been changed no matter when they were created at Ulyses Cloud. However, to get a first load of any of them we will need to perform an initial load in which

  • Reservations need to be asked in periods of 1 month
