BI solutions
Business intelligence have become popular lately thanks to the advantages which provide when it comes to analyzing performance and getting KPIs quickly. Business Intelligence solutions primarily need data related to reservations and production from Ulyses PMS. Depending on the hotel size and complexity of operations the volume of data can be daunting. For this reason we will need to limit the amount of data. We recommend the following approach when implementing a BI client.
Common operations
Initial setup
This step needs to be completed when setting up the connection between Ulyses Cloud and a Business intelligence platform. BI's need a great amount of data to work and it also needs to obtain historical data, which is very expensive to get. BI's will obtain a batch of reservations by means of the operation Get reservations and a timeframe. We recommend to limit the number of records by applying a filter in which we specify a time span of a week or two. However for future reservations you can increase the time span as the amount of reservations will be lower as time goes by.
Update reservations
Once the connection has been set up we need to update info periodically to get reservations and production up to date. We recommend you to update the information once per day but this can be changed. We recommend you to use Ulyses Connection roomstay events so you can retrieve reservation updates including creations.
Update production
Once the connection has been set up we need to update info periodically to get the production up to date. We recommend you to update the information once per day but this can be changed. The operation that you will need to use is get revenue by date and product indicating the new period and filtering by product and type of products if needed.
Get the rates list give information about the names and ids of the rates used by a property. Getting all rate prices will give us as a result the collection of prices related to an specific (not implemented)
Get occupancy update
Ulyses Cloud calculates the occupancy nor taking into account the number of rooms or modules but summing up the number of room subtypes throughout a period. To get an update of the property's occupancy we will need to get occupancy applying a filter where we specify the dates
